Anycubic Kobra 2: Most Common Problems & Fixes

Most Kobra 2 complaints come down to mechanical drift over time, plus a couple of well-known wiring and firmware quirks.

  • Auto-leveling accuracy degrading over time

    Rods, belts, or pulleys loosening after extended use throws off the leveling sensor's measurement accuracy. Periodically check and retighten these components, and re-run leveling after any mechanical maintenance.

  • Uneven adhesion left vs. right after leveling

    Usually means the auto-leveling pass didn't fully succeed. Re-run the leveling routine, and check that the bed and sensor are clean and undamaged.

  • Holes or missing lines in prints

    Typically caused by too much retraction distance combined with a partial clog. Reduce retraction distance slightly and check for a clog before assuming it's a slicer setting issue alone.

  • Broken thermistor wires

    The stock thermistor wiring is known to fatigue and fracture from repeated movement, causing erratic temperature readings or errors. Inspect the wiring for visible damage if you see temperature fluctuations, and replace if frayed.

  • Repeating zits when printing from SD card

    A regular pattern of blobs across a print can mean the resume/power-loss-recovery function is enabled, causing brief stutter-stops that leak filament at consistent intervals. Disable it if you don't specifically need it.
