ABS Print Settings and Common Problems
ABS is strong and heat-resistant, but it's the material most likely to warp, crack, or delaminate if you don't manage its cooling and enclosure needs deliberately.

ABS wants minimal to no part cooling for the main body of the print — too much fan is a direct cause of layer separation. An enclosure isn't optional for anything beyond small parts; open-frame printers without one will struggle badly with warping.
Common problems
Warping is ABS's signature problem
Without consistent ambient heat, ABS contracts unevenly as it cools and lifts off the bed at the corners. An enclosure (even an improvised one) is the single biggest fix, alongside a properly heated bed and a brim.

ABS needs each layer to stay warm enough to properly fuse with the next. Minimize part-cooling fan use and eliminate drafts — an open window or a room fan pointed at the printer will cause this reliably.

ABS releases noticeably more odor and fumes than PLA or PETG while printing. Print in a ventilated space, or use an enclosure with a filtered vent if printing ABS regularly.
